Across Oregon, small pioneer cemeteries—many dating back to the mid-1800s—are at risk of being forgotten, neglected, or lost to time. Often located on private land, these burial grounds represent the lives, families, and stories that shaped the foundation of this state.
Without documentation and protection, these sites—and the history they hold—may disappear.
The Oregon Pioneer Cemeteries Conservancy (OPCC) maintains a developing statewide registry of known historic pioneer cemeteries.
